City Place Spring TX Events: Your Fall 2026 Calendar

The plaza at 1250 Lake Plaza Drive is now running a fuller weekly schedule than many gyms. The City Place events calendar from mid-October through the end of November lists something on the Plaza most Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings, plus nearly every Saturday. The biggest event of those two months is a free tree lighting on Nov. 29.

The new independent places that opened around Spring this season are somewhere else entirely. A motorcycle-themed coffee shop opened on TC Jester. A café opened on Rayford, a Mexican grill on Louetta, and a Vietnamese market on Stuebner Airline. So for someone who lives here, a full fall weekend uses the Plaza for the program and the neighborhood roads for the coffee and dinner around it.

The Weeknight Schedule on the Plaza

The steady part of the City Place calendar is a rotation of evening fitness classes on the Plaza itself. The calendar lists each session separately, so the pattern only shows up when the dates are lined up by weekday.

Day Class Time Listed dates
Monday Zumba 6–7 p.m. Oct. 12, 19, 26; Nov. 2, 9, 16, 23, 30
Wednesday Strength & Sculpt 6:30–7:30 p.m. Oct. 14, 21, 28; Nov. 4, 11, 18, 25
Thursday Zumba 6–7 p.m. Oct. 15, 22; Nov. 5, 12, 19
Thursday Zumba Latin Fusion, children welcome 7–8 p.m. Oct. 15, 22, 29; Nov. 5, 12, 19
Friday HIIT on The Plaza 6:30–7:30 p.m. Oct. 16, 23, 30; Nov. 6, 13, 27

The calendar lists no price for these classes, so check before you show up expecting a free class. Saturday mornings add yoga from 10 to 11 a.m. on Oct. 31, Nov. 7 and Nov. 28. A 9 a.m. Strength & Sculpt session runs on Oct. 31 and Nov. 7. On Nov. 7, Ōra Pilates Studio also has a 9 to 11 a.m. session, and its listing says "Fee and registration required."

On Thursdays you can make a full evening of it, with two Zumba classes back to back from 6 to 8 p.m. on most weeks through Nov. 19. The second class, Zumba Latin Fusion, is listed as children welcome.

Saturdays Carry the Big Events

The weeknight classes keep the Plaza busy, but the weekends are what fill it up. Starting Oct. 24, almost every Saturday through Thanksgiving weekend has a major event on the City Place calendar.

  1. Oct. 24, noon to 4 p.m. The City Place Fall Festival is free and includes a vendor market, a pumpkin patch and fall characters.
  2. Oct. 31, 1 to 6 p.m. Lifestyle Revolution hosts the Halloween Trunk or Treat + Zumba Dance Competition. It has local vendors, a costume competition, a dance competition, a bounce house and games.
  3. Nov. 7, 1 to 6 p.m., then 8 p.m. The Veteran's Day Community Bake Off + Vendor Market fills the afternoon. After that, Pix on the Plaza shows La La Land, rated PG-13, as a free screening.
  4. Nov. 14, 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., then 8 p.m. The Hard Hats and Tutus Walk & Taste fills the morning. The Houston Cinema Arts Society brings CINESPACE on The Plaza that evening.
  5. Nov. 20–22, 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. each day. The Water Lantern Festival requires a ticket, and the event page doesn't list the price. On the Saturday of that weekend, Nov. 21, the Good Books In the Woods Pop Up runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  6. Nov. 26, 8 a.m. to noon. The Thanksgiving Turkey Trot with Give Me A Break Texas falls on Thanksgiving morning.
  7. Nov. 29, 3 to 7 p.m. The free Oh, What Fun! Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration takes over the Plaza.

The tree lighting has the longest lineup of the season. City Place lists a Gingerbread Village, photos with Santa, a real-snow play area, holiday train rides, balloon artists, a holiday market and live music. The evening builds to a countdown and the lighting of the tree at City Place Lake after dusk. The posted calendar stops at Nov. 30, and no December events or class dates are listed yet.

Oct. 24 Is the Day Everything Lands at Once

The Fall Festival shares its Saturday with the biggest date on the October calendar at Mercer Botanic Gardens. The Native Plant Society of Texas lists the 2026 Mercer Pollinator Plant Sale Festival for Oct. 24 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. That listing is the only published source for the date so far. The vendor list, payment details and admission haven't been posted, so confirm with Mercer before you go.

Because the plant sale opens at 7:30 a.m. and City Place opens at noon, you can do both. Mercer is at 22306 Aldine Westfield Road. Precinct 3 lists the address as Humble 77338. A morning among native plants, then lunch, then the pumpkin patch at Lake Plaza Drive fits easily into one day.

Harris County Precinct 3's October 2026 program calendar for Mercer has more dates on either side of the sale:

  • Saturday, Oct. 17, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Houston Bonsai Society Fall Show meets under the Treehouse Staff Building and is open to all ages.
  • Saturdays, Oct. 17 and 31, 9 a.m. Tai Chi for ages 12 and up meets in the same spot.
  • Friday, Oct. 30, 9 to 10 a.m. The Spooky Plants garden tour, for ages 5 and up, meets in front of the Mercer Visitor Center.

The Spooky Plants tour falls the day before Halloween, so a family can go to Mercer on Friday morning and the Trunk or Treat at City Place on Saturday afternoon.

The New Rooms Opened on the Neighborhood Roads

No new restaurant or shop inside City Place itself could be confirmed as having opened since June. The independents that did open this season are spread across Spring's neighborhood roads, and several make easy stops before or after a Plaza event.

Cold Start Coffee, 18113 TC Jester Blvd., Ste. A. This motorcycle-themed shop held its grand opening on Oct. 11. It's owned by Stephanie Lopez, Oscar Lopez and Marshall Doreen. Stephanie Lopez told Community Impact that the idea was "a place where people can come together, enjoy great coffee and feel like they belong." The shop serves coffee, small bites and pastries and welcomes pets. It plans to add wine and beer once it gets a license.

Jovi Roasters Café, 602 Rayford Road, Ste. B. Owners John and Violet Irias opened the café on Aug. 3, according to Community Impact. The pastry case includes alfajores, flan, chocolate cake and cookies. The food menu has empanadas, burritos and bagels sourced from locally owned small businesses.

Casa Nueva Mexican Grill and Bar, 8921 Louetta Road. The restaurant soft-opened its Spring location on Sept. 16 as a second location alongside the one on FM 1960. Community Impact reported a menu of nacho and fajita plates, enchiladas and seafood, plus a full bar with margaritas and specialty cocktails. No grand opening date had been announced as of that report.

Ga U Muoi Hoa Tieu Houston, 17297 Stuebner Airline Road. This Vietnamese specialty market and takeout shop opened in early August. Its menu includes popcorn chicken, grilled chicken dishes and seafood, and the shelves carry Vietnamese sauces, dried shrimp and snacks, per Community Impact.

PBG Cards & Collectibles, 25170 I-45 N., Unit 9. This shop opened in late August on the freeway frontage, according to Community Impact.

Taken together, these openings suggest a way to plan a Saturday. Coffee comes from Rayford or TC Jester, the afternoon is at the Plaza, and dinner can be on Louetta or takeout from Stuebner Airline.

What the Permits Say Is Next

Two well-known names are coming, though neither has an opening date. Community Impact reported that Trader Joe's is planned for 21364 Kuykendahl Road, with construction set to start Dec. 1 and finish around April 1, 2027. Pepper Lunch, a sizzling teppanyaki concept, is headed to The Market at Springwoods Village at 2174 Spring Stuebner Road, Suite 340. Its construction is listed from Dec. 7, 2026, to an estimated April 26, 2027. Both of those dates are construction estimates, not opening days.

The trail project farther out is still on paper. The Cypresswood Spring Trail would be a 3.52-mile, 8-foot-wide path connecting the Cypress Creek and Spring Creek greenways. Design is expected to wrap up by July 2027, and completion is estimated for July 2028, per Community Impact. Until it's built, the fall program for this corner of Spring runs through Mercer's monthly schedule and the Plaza calendar, which has dates posted through Nov. 30.
